Mountain Lion Sighting In Sutter Creek

A Mountain Lion sighting has been reported in the Sutter Creek area.  According to reports, Wednesday morning just before 10, a City of Sutter Creek employee encountered a Mountain Lion on Mahoney Mill Road, approximately 1.5 miles south of the city sewer treatment plant.  As a precaution residents in the area are reminded not to hike, bike, or jog alone especially at dawn, dusk, and at night.  Keep a close watch on small children and pets. If you encounter a Mountain Lion, do not run; instead, face the animal, make noise and try to look bigger by waving your arms; throw rocks or other objects.  If attacked, fight back and if you have any type of encounter with a Mountain Lion, immediately call 911.
