Authorities Search For Clues In The Possible Double Murder-Suicide In Pine Grove

The investigation continues today into what appears to be a murder suicide in Pine Grove. As authorities search for clues, the preliminary investigation revealed at approximately 3:05 Thursday morning, Sheriff’s Dispatch received a 911 call from a female subject reporting that her son had killed himself at her residence on Hilltop Street in Pine Grove. Upon arrival, deputies contacted the woman along with her 4 year old granddaughter who were waiting outside. Upon entering the home, deputies located 26 year-old Jacob Thayer; 27 year-old Marie Ann Leonetti; and 60 year-old Roger Thayer II. Richard and Marie both appeared to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Jacob had one apparent gunshot wound, consistent with being self-inflicted. A partially loaded Glock .40 caliber pistol registered to Jacob was found at the scene next to him. All three were dead from their wounds. The woman who identified herself as Jacob’s mother told investigators she had left the residence earlier in the evening to care for a family member. Just before 3 AM she received a call from her granddaughter stating that the girl’s father had shot himself. The woman then drove to the residence where she found her granddaughter and the three victims. As of this morning, the investigation is active and ongoing.
