Environmental Impact Public “Scope Session” Of The One Sands Motor Sport Facility

The Amador County Planning Commission will hold a public “scoping session” to review the potential environmental impacts of the One Sands Motor Sports Facility later this month. Submitted by the US Mine Corporation, the project would consist of a private-use motocross facility, to be located on Highway 124 in Ione. Before a decision on the project can be made by the county, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) requires the preparation and certification of an environmental impact report. Part of the EIR preparation includes an early public consultation process. The Amador planning commission has scheduled a “scoping session” for Tuesday, November 13, at 7:00 P.M., at the County Administration Center. All interested persons are invited to attend and state their concerns. If you are unable to attend the meeting, submit your concerns in writing by 5 PM on November 16th. Comments are to be focused on environmental impact issues at this stage in the review rather than arguments for, or against the project. Any questions should be referred to the Amador County Planning Department, 223-6380.
