The Count Continues Today In Amador And Calaveras Counties

The count continues today in Amador and Calaveras Counties.  Amador County Elections Chief Kim Grady says as of this morning, there are 509 provisional, 800 vbm’s 90 conditional and about 400 ballots that need to be duplicated, totaling about 1,800. Grady says she doesn’t expect the results to change much.   In Calaveras County, Clerk-Recorder, Rebecca Turner, says, there are roughly 4,000 ballots left to count. This includes vote by mail and provisional ballots received at the polling places, over the counter ballots received after 5:00 pm, and conditional ballots.  Turner says she too, doesn’t expect to see a change in the current results.  Merita Callaway and Benjamin Stopper have big leads in their respective supervisor races, as does Rick Dibasillio in the race for Sheriff.  Both Amador and Calaveras county Election crews will continue to count VBM’s through tomorrow, as long as they were postmarked by Election Day, November 6th.  The final results will be certified no earlier than November 20th and no later than December 6th.
