Attorney General Takes Over Case Involving County Administrator

The California Attorney General’s office has taken over the assault case involving Calaveras County Administrator Al Alt. The Calaveras County District Attorney’s office confirmed yesterday, that the case had been referred to the Attorney General’s office. No immediate explanation for the referral has been given. Alt was seriously injured in the attack at the Range Bar & Grill in Valley Springs on October 12. 38-year old Benjamin Robitaille of Valley Springs was arrested the next night for the assault. Details regarding what led up to the physical altercation have not yet been released by the Calaveras County Sheriff’s office.
