Fall Cleanup Day Set

Residents in Ione, Jackson, and Sutter Creek will have a chance to clear out some extra household and yard waste.  Republic Services is holding its annual Residential Fall Cleanup from October 5th through the 9th, with pickup taking place on residents’ normal service day.  Republic says customers can put out up to one cubic yard of acceptable material.  That’s roughly a three-by-three-by-three-foot pile, or about seven 32-gallon bags.   Acceptable items include general trash, paper products, non-treated wood, tools, metal, plastics, and yard waste.  But there are some restrictions.  Items must be bagged, boxed, or bundled in a disposable container, and no individual item can weigh more than 50 pounds or be longer than four feet.  Republic will not accept appliances, furniture, mattresses, tires, electronics, motor oil, concrete, hot ashes, animal waste, or household hazardous waste.   So, if you’ve got some fall cleanup to do around the house, October 5th through the 9th is your opportunity to get rid of that extra clutter in Ione, Jackson, and Sutter Creek.
