New City Manager Sworn In For Jackson

Jackson officially welcomed their new city manager with a swearing in ceremony Thursday night. Rob Kightlinger, a local to Jackson, was picked out of 33 applicants for the position following the departure earlier this summer of Carl Simpson after 2 and a half years with the city. In a review of the Pool Season, Pool Director Daphne Parker awarded three golden whistles to her staff for outstanding service, including a response to two significant medical emergencies by their pool manager Gavin Mynderup. Kaylee Cronin and Paitlee Cross were also awarded for their dedication and leadership throughout the summer season. The council also approved their 26-27 Fiscal Year  Operating and Capital Improvement budgets showing minor growth in revenue and anticipating rising expenditures due to inflation and rising personnel costs. The conservative forecast has the city continuing to eye other paths to revenue generation, especially grant funding for capital improvement needs. Lastly, the council approved moving delinquent utilities accounts to property tax rolls for three properties holding long-outstanding balances.
